Funerals
The types of funeral services are many and varied depending on religious beliefs and customs. We at Mannings will be able to answer all your queries regarding the type of funeral that you may require. Presently, about 60% of all funerals are cremations. Cremations have become the main in recent times.
Plots in cemeteries vary in cost. Lawn sections in cemeteries can be less expensive than monumental sections, as head stones and masonery have additional cost.
Most funeral services whether cremation or burial, have some form of religious involvement and the main participant is usually a minister of religion or a priest. It is also acceptable to have a service performed by a funeral celebrant, the funeral director, or a member of the family or their friends. R.S.L. sub-branches and Masonic lodge may also send a representative to the funeral to participate if the person was a member of those organisations.
Funeral services may be held in a church or chapel, or direct at a crematorium or graveside.
Some people may request a church or chapel service only, and not wish to be present at the final committal at the crematorium or graveside. This is not unusual and the funeral directors staff and clergy tend to the last rites.
If requested, Mannings Funeral Home will collect ashes from crematoriums on your behalf and carry out your wishes for their resting place or dispersal.
